We have so many incidents showing Albo to be the muppet he is. On tour in the Caribbean he was busted telling a group of cameramen and journalists on tour with him to stop filming showing him to be the petulant child Kevin Rudd wishes he was. With interest rates up again Albo didn’t even bother watching Bullock giver her verdict instead lording it up with the King leaving Chalmers to cut a lonely figure at the post rate rise press conference. There is no doubt that Labor’s handling of the economy has been poor and we have indeed seen business suffer because of their incompetence BUT! While David Jones has not been helped by the current economic crisis being felt by Australia the decline of the 188 year old department store chain is not entirely the fault of Albo. In 2014 DJ’s was sold to Woolworths of South Africa for $2.1 billion, so while times are indeed tough the decline of the once much loved chain has been on the cards for while. Despite the slow burn demise of DJ’s it potentially means that more than 5,000 staff are about to lose their jobs just before Christmas which is what the RBA will say is what the economy needs. These are sad and desperate times and again its the battlers that suffer no matter whats happening in the world.
While it looks as if more than 5,000 people will lose their jobs at DJ’s up in Canberra the wage bill for the public service has topped a staggering $43 billion! We had a small insight into how over paid some political advisors are when Albo offered David Farley a $200,000 a year staffer, but surely it’s time for cuts in the public sector? It’s great to get a job on the tax payer dime but enough is enough.
Well with the blue democratic wave now in full swing throughout the United States we are already seeing signs of change. Two major things that have happened since the democrats took back both the house and the senate are that Gavin Newsome has commuted all death sentences to life without parole in California and Ai tech stocks have taken a beating. The Ai industry is now on notice that it’s no longer got the run of the White House and the democrats want a bit more detail before they approve more handouts. In California the man who could well be the next President has taken the blue wave opportunity to say no more death penalty which if he became president could be a take on things to come. In addition to these effects of the blue wave both Hegseth and Vance are now thinking about the lawyers who might help them when the knock at the door comes and where’s Musk gone? Now there are unquestionably questions to answer for a number of people within the republican family as there should be, but as we said yesterday here’s hoping the blue wave doesn’t again become all about the blue haired brigade!
To debate or not to debate that is the question and right now it looks like the debate Ben Carroll wanted to have with Wilson and Pickering is off. Channel 9 who were to host the debate haven’t been able to secure all the parties in the ways they want so at the moment its off, which is probably a good thing for Pickering given he didn’t know what the interest rates went up to when questioned on Sky.
Russell Brand, the man who was seemingly allowed to be a bit of a creepy weirdo is now a convicted rapist. When the Brand allegations came out I was of the opinion that justice needed to run its course. It would depend on what happened in court as to who Brand really was rather than the trial by media many before him had gone through, but now having heard the testimony’s of the victims and heard more details about his life in general tow things are now clear. One is who stands by and allows famous people do to what ever they want and secondly these victims deserved their justice. Have a nice time in jail Rusty.
And finally the Aussie motor sport legend and 1980 Formula One world champion Alan Jones has died at the age of 80. Jones was a man from an era when men were men and race cars were driven by humans not computers. He was Australia’s first and only F1 world champion and has inspired many an Aussie driver. I used to love his no nonsense F1 commentary and he leaves behind a legacy in motor sport that will never be forgotten. RIP Alan Jones.
