Well that was everything the republicans had feared the mid terms would be and are now working out who’s going to defend a whole raft of people who will no doubt be dragged over the coals by a reenergised Democrat party. Pete Hegseth, Musk, Trump family members and Trump himself are all in line to be subjected to an array of potential charges and even impeachment proceedings now that the Democrats run both the house and the senate.
Trump watched the unfolding disaster on TV from the White House and when all was lost started personally ringing live TV broadcasts. Trump was ringing to suggest if he’d been on the ballots it would not have been the catastrophe that it was and went so far as to say he was happy to work with Democrats to keep the country moving. Despite trying to play nice on national TV Trump did also say he was still the President and he did have the power to override everything and everyone if he thought he needed to. I can’t see Trump using the loophole at all…can anyone else?!
Here’s a scenario for you. You’re good at sport, you love playing it, it’s your whole world and you work your arse off to become a professional athlete. You make the big time and launch a serious professional career but then you decide despite being so lucky to be where you are, you drive home drunk. Cops pull you over, you lose your license on the spot. Not long after having your license suspended you decide you need some gear so head over to a local dealers house to get yourself some Coke. You do a few lines at your mates place as well as have a few beers. A few hours later you head home and are again pulled over by police. This time a drug test, a breath test and a licence check. You’re off your face on Coke, you’re drunk and to top it off, you don’t have a license! You’re stuffed! In the world of some professional sports teams you’d be cooked but when you play for a certain Aussie one, you’re in luck! No one ever faces consequences for their moronic actions! The point here is when do professional sports people like the one in the papers today come to understand how lucky they are to be playing a game they love? When do they grow up? There will no doubt be all sorts of excuses offered but the reality is these lads need a smack in the head not excuses or a cuddle!
Canva, one of the truly great Aussie tech success stories is about to sack or repurpose more than 1,200 staff across its operation. The company is saying the layoffs aren’t as a result of Ai but it’s certainly a hard time for the Aussie online design company. I love Canva and while it’s always hard to swallow billionaire owners saying they’re so sorry it’s still a great product and a credit to them.
The attack on a man and his son for supposedly preventing someone from taking down One Nation signage is now no longer a political motivated attack. It’s unclear what the actual motivation was for the brutal attack but the Go fund me page set up for the attacked man and his family has been paused…One Nation has unquestionably jumped the gun.
Ai Labor party ads are being used to show Warren Pickering and Jess Wilson in cahoots with one another in the lead up to the election. The images and video are obviously fake but while they seem to have upset a few people isn’t this now the world we live in? I’d suggest the Ai political campaigns are here to stay and will only get bigger and bigger but how are we stopping lies and misinformation? Ask Meta?
And finally David Jones has entered administration. The once mighty department store chain is a shadow of its former self and heading for the liquidators. It’s a sad thing to see DJ’s go and while some of it may be saved its best days are behind it and is just another nail in the coffin of global face to face retail. That’s more jobs lost their Albo and guess what? It’s not because of war in Iran!
