So apparently we’re not in a recession but it feels like we are, whatever the case Australia has now had 17 rate hikes since Albo came into office AND interest rates of 4.85% are the highest they’ve been for 15 years. Winning! I’m sorry but anyone that still thinks Albo and Chalmers are still doing a good job is being deliberately delusional or you’re Stephen Koukoulas. The rate hike news came as Albo was hobnobbing on the other side of the world with the King!
Albo’s argument for being at the meeting of useless global leaders was to develop trade and investment deals for Australia. While that may be true Albo made a point of telling the King of England he was asked what he was doing there when Australia was basically melting down economically. Albo told King Charles his response was, the King asked me to come so I did! How very noble from a bloke who is a self confessed republican?! The King joked he was the reason the PM left Australia to attend the conference, well your majesty, we think Albo is a bit of a joke so if you want to hang onto him then he’s all yours!
As Australians come to terms with more interest rates pain over in the US, voters could well be about to give Trump the biggest kick in the ass he’s ever had. If the Democrats do get the house back get ready for Trump to fight very very dirty, but regardless these mid terms are going to be a massive mess for the republicans. Trump is about to have his wings seriously clipped and with his power weaning domestically it’s on the international level that the country needs to lift its game again. Can they? Not with Trump they can’t so hopefully at the next election when the likes of Gavin Newsome take over they can then.
Sam Wood, the fitness guru, the reality TV star and party boy who is currently banged up for allegedly smacking the missus around is again going to have a crack at freedom. The argument is that the denial of bail didn’t take into account how far away the trial could be…so for me though Sammy boy stays in jail.
After we hear that ADHD meds could possibly cause psychosis what do medical boards do next? Turn weight loss drugs into pills for people to take. So now instead of exercising, eating less or being healthier in general we now have a pill to give people. Now some people do indeed need medication to help with abc but we live in a world where pills are the answer to everything when they can actually makes things worse. Governments won’t look at bigger picture fixes to serious issues so when big Pharma comes along with a magic pill, guess what? Eat less walk the dog don’t smoke it’s not rocket science.
And finally a man who was displaying One Nation signage and then questioned a man and his son for taking the signs down has been attacked so severely he’s in hospital with a brain bleed. One Nation are indeed saying it’s a terrible situation and have started a go fund me page that has had support from Elon Musk. One nation aren’t doing themselves any favours when it comes to messaging. So you have to take the rough with the smooth but this incident is over a line that should see all the people involved pushed to ask some serious questions about why we seem to be seeing violence and hate become the norm over discussion and genuine debate. these are dark times and unfortunately they don’t look like they’ll get much better any time soon.
