Sunday Hoodies

Editorial

It’s election season in Victoria and you often take the alleged quotes from government insiders who always speak anonymously with a grain of salt, BUT! It seems there is trouble within the once mighty Victorian Labor party and that the current Premier is taking little nana naps in the afternoon. Not only is Benjamin having an afternoon sleep but it is alleged his wife is help run the show. This was refuted by Carroll’s handlers, but we did hear that she bakes muffins and brings them into the office for staff…isn’t that nice? It’s hard to think that the current Labor party is the same party that has ruled Victoria with an iron fist for a decade but such is their current status and  their time is unquestionably up.

Overnight there appears to have been a bikie related shooting on the Gold Coast, in which several people have been killed, but it’s not being widely reported on mainstream media. There are several ‘new media’ outlets on the scene, including Karl Stefanovic recruit Drew Pavalou, but not much more. Despite the horror of an incident like this, it’s very interesting to see what the media will report on and what it leaves out. Attacks on MP’s are now major news, but a few bikies shooting at each other where kids are said to be near by doesn’t seem to rate that much of a mention. Social media companies are toxic and mostly unaccountable, but let’s not forget that mainstream media is also run by billionaires with their own agendas as well.

Ben Roberts-Smith is in the news again, not because he’s been charged with anything else but because he’s at least trying to take his life back. During the week BRS has done a 2 hour interview with the 2GB radio host Ben Fordham. In the interview BRS has slammed everyone involved in his arrest and went so far as to suggest why is the AFP tailing him when they had dropped the ball on the Bondi attacks. We have to point out that BRS has a new fitness and clothing brand to promote, but while he’s probably having some of his legal fees funded by a benefactor he also needs to contribute to those fees. The interview with Fordham has been criticised by a few, including the age, who have suggested he was a little liberal with the truth. It’s also been suggested that interviews like this could have a detrimental impact on his trial, but at what point do we seperate those that defend our freedom and those that attack it?
