Helen Haines
Yesterday afternoon Australian independent MP Helen Haines was deliberately run over by a 43 year old man, who has been identified online. Haines was near her electorate office when the alleged perpetrator supposedly turned his vehicle around to target Haines deliberately. After running down Haines the man was held by locals until Police arrived transporting her initially to Wangaratta hospital and then via helicopter to the Alfred in Melbourne. Her condition this morning remains critical with the alleged attacker in police custody.
Not long after the attack PM Anthony Albanese was as on the ABC programme 7.30 where he gave similar comment to the one he gave after Bondi, we need to stop the shouting. Albanese didn’t directly blame social media for the attack on Haines but suggested it was a contributing factor in the delivery of information. Albanese quite rightly said we are all praying for the recovery of Helen Haines and on that he was spot on.
The attack on Haines will again rock this country to its core. The lucky country is now home to a range of anti social nutbags who believe everything they see online is gospel. Who do spread misinformation and toxic lies that are astonishingly disgusting. Sovereign citizens that think they’re above the law, average punters who believe governments are the enemy of everyone and people in general who are so angry about their own lives they want to blame anyone in power.
We do indeed pray for Helen Haines and while there is a woman in hospital fighting for life we need to realise that hate, division and toxicity will do absolutely nothing for anyone except further divide and make social media companies even more money.

While we come to terms with yet another domestic terrorism attack we have to ask has One Nation gone too far with its personal attack on Jacqui Lambie. Lambie has made no secret of the fact she is suffering from a prolapsed vagina which she suggests is to do with her military service but it hasn’t stopped One Nation attacking her. In a recent episode of the One Nation cartoon Lambie’s medical condition was made fun of a numerous occasions. When Lambie raised concerns and said she was offended the response from Hanson was harden up.
Ben Carroll has this morning taken to every left wingers favourite radio station the ABC. Carroll who is giving free stuff to anyone that smiles at him in the lead up to the state election has decided to cap his grand plans for reducing the costs of using road tolls and public transport. Firstly on public transport you’ll need your old Myki card as phones etc won’t be able to use it and secondly along with the roads the whole program is a temporary measure. So even in the unlikely scenario Carroll wins don’t be budgeting $30 a week on roads or public transport for too long.
Speaking of unlikely scenarios, former Premier of Victoria Steve ‘I can still deliver a speech half cut’ Bracks has suggested Ben Carroll should’ve taken over as Premier a year ago. Not only should he have taken over a year ago but Bracks believes it’s going to be hard for Carroll to win come November.
Quickly to the US where Donald Trump is still yet to announce a new Press Secretary, hopefully one with some provable qualifications, the President has backed Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu to remain the PM. Trump has called Netanyahu a great warrior and said he has every confidence in him. Some will see this as a great thing others as an opportunity to fuel the fires of anger but it’s hard to see Netanyahu losing.
And finally Nick Reece is a moron. I’m sorry I tried to like him, but with Nick coming out and suggesting the Yarra needs to be swimmable by 2050 is a complete joke. Millions of dollars are to be spent on trying to clean the Yarra and for what? A couple of people a year to go for a dip? Jesus, if ever there was a case for sacking councils this would be it!
