Hello and welcome to the Hoodies daily…
Have you ever had one of those days where you think to yourself, what the absolute fuck am I doing? The last few days have pushed my buttons in all manner of ways and has seen my tolerance for stupidity be pushed to its limits but I haven’t killed anyone yet! I’m reflecting on the fact that the work I do might be done where no one is watching or even really cares about but at some stage in this life or the next will make a difference…so onwards we march toward the truths of the world.
I didn’t write about this in the Daily today, but the American actor Amy Poehler has done an interview on her podcast with the legend that is Paul McCartney. Amy like most of us that would meet a Beatle is in awe of him but regardless brings out the human element in the great man I haven’t seen anyone else have. He even talks openly and emotionally about his dearly departed Linda. It’s an interview with a musical genius but it’s also a reminder of how important humans are and that no matter who we are we still have this connection to one another via what’s inside us.
Back to the land of bullshit and spin! What’s another $285 million in Victoria when we don’t know what happened to $15 billion and more?! It’s great that IBAC have said there have been payments made to people and businesses that shouldn’t have received them but what about some consequences for actions…and have these bureaucrats still got jobs?
Free abortions! And? How has that not been a thing before and how is the pain and suffering of a woman (a real one) who has to deal with all the issues surrounding such a decision now a political issue for votes?
Chinese spies on LinkedIn! I can honestly say I’ve never had a Chinese spy agency invite me to spill any kind of secrets, but it would’ve been cool if they had! I would’ve told everyone! Ha!
Great to see unemployment up to the target the RBA thought it would hit at the end of next year at 4.7%…great job Albo, Jim and the RBA! You have collectively fucked the Australian economy and made working families pick up the tab for all of it! And while we are forced to suffer the blind incompetence of governments and federal monetary organisations how much money did the Big Four banks make collectively last year? More than $28 billion, that seems fair. Wankers!
And finally as part of trying to remind people we’re still human we talk about books and the importance of having real books…call me old fashioned but I think books are worth saving.
