Well even with a 40 year high in government spending Jim Chalmers is still pointing the finger to foreign influencers when it comes to Australia’s inflation rate. Last weeks announcement from the RBA to kick up rates again has seen Chalmers admit he understands how hard it is for some people at the moment, but basically he hasn’t got any money to offer those struggling…there’s no cash here! Here! There’s no cash! Jim though we think makes all this economics thing much too complicated, I mean look at Albo! He was out the other day, so happy with himself! Albo cut the banking surcharge and that despite banks making billions and small businesses struggling Albo put them in the gun and gave them zero options, except? Put their prices up! So we let the banks off the hook, have the customer pay more and the small business owner put their prices up so they can afford to wear another tax from Albo…you just hope people are awake to Albo’s crap!

Aussie comedian Dave Hughes has been a fierce critic of Albo but now Hughes has got himself a side kick in another Aussie comedian, Luke McGregor. McGregor isn’t quite as pointed in his criticisms as Hughes but is more along the lines of common sense, ie…data centres squeezing as much power out of us as they can only for household power prices to sky rocket. McGregor isn’t alone in saying large corporations are putting prices up to not only cover increased costs of doing business but also to maintain their margins! Heaven for bid and large bank or supermarket would lose money in a cost of living crisis! It’ll be interesting to see how McGregor goes being critical of government but I think he’ll be fine because the divide between the left and the right is getting closer. Closer because they’re actually united….in their dislike of Albo!

Have we hit peak right wing populism? After the One Nation campaign launch on Melbourne the other day you’d have to say there might be a few people starting to raise an eyebrow or two. The One Nation campaign launch was part MAGA promotion, part rock concert and part delusion. The launch was kind of like the poor persons version of a Trump rally and even suggested the arrest of Andrews and Allan, which is good in theory but really?

I’m not exactly sure what our intelligence agencies get up to on a day to day basis, but while I’m sure there’s lots we don’t know nor really want to know how was the pilot from the FlyDubai plane ever in Australia? Again, I’m sure our own 007’s are out doing what needs to be done, but aren’t we seeing too many failures when it comes to our intelligence services?

And finally today…Digger. For those of you that don’t know, Digger is the latest and perhaps most odd movie from the legendary Tom Cruise. Now I haven’t seen it yet, but to say it’s dividing the critics would be an understatement! The Times UK hated it, several online reviewers have loved it but it’s Tom Cruise! No he’s not jumping around in this one but regardless we have an obligation to watch every new movie from the man that brought back cinema in the post Covid era. When I do see it I’ll let you know what I thought…
