Well another Tuesday another interest rate rise and its still not Labor’s fault. While Bullock didn’t directly go after Albo and Chalmers she did bring the issue of inflation back to Australia. She said that while global influences were having an impact on inflation it was domestic spending and low productivity that were also key drivers of yet another rate hike. Both Bullock and Chalmers admitted they knew people would be hurting with rates now at a 15 year high, but unless Labor can reduce domestic spending rates will again go up and give Australians a Christmas to forget.

Back in the land of Mr Integrity ie Victoria, it would appear the rail link to Melbourne airport is about to get under way and that Doctors are about to go on strike over safety concerns. So on one hand we have billions more spent on infrastructure that right now we don’t need, but no money spent on medical professionals saying the system is broken. Common sense? Logic? Proper fiscal management? No on all fronts.

Mehreen Faruqi is quickly becoming the next possible leader of the federal greens and if you thought the Greens were an anti Israel but of left wing extremists before then wait til Mehreen takes over! I remember a time when the Greens were actually about environmental issues and genuinely made a difference but now they’re just a Labor supporting bunch of left wing extremists who do absolutely nothing to make a genuine difference in the country.

As I was reading through the papers and scrolling the news channels on my phone I saw Donald Trump holding a press conference flanked by Dario Amodei and the creepy nerdling, Mark Zuckerberg. They were with El Presidente to talk to Ai and that Trump now wants it referred to as Si, Super intelligence, but as Trump was having his love fest with the tech nerds Open Ai had announced it was hitting the pause button on rolling out new models of Ai. Why? Because it appears that while Ai sits above human intelligence its founders don’t want to be responsible for it taking over or destroying the world, Trump on the other hand…

There was a very odd case of terrorism in the UK the other day. Several men in white vans were caught near a temporary US military base. It mad headlines across the world and of course the media got behind it as a major terrorist event, but then it wasn’t? The men were indeed arrested by big blokes with bug guns but were then released on bail? None of the men involved were fitted with black bags and marched off to Belmarsh, where Julian Assange had been held nor were they put in military aircraft and sent to ADX Florence, instead, they were let go…it begs the question what actually happened and what defines a threat to national security these days? 

In the last year the big five Ai companies have made less than $400 million globally. Now that’s n to bad money when you look at it, but when you take a deeper look at the real balance sheets of Ai companies they’re collectively on the hook for more than $3 trillion. How I hear you ask? Two words data centres. Investors from all over the world have been shelling out major coin to these Ai tech companies building the data centres they say they need to increase growth. But according to Big Short subject matter Michael J Burry what happens if Ai doesn’t get as big as some are suggesting it will? Well that’s why Burry is now looking at how he can make yet more money off the stupidity of investors and companies promising fields of gold. Burry is someone that knows a thing or two about poor investment decisions and planning given he got the 2008 GFC bang on, but if he is right this time you have to wonder will the US treasury be coming to the aid of Ai companies? 

And finally who is actually going to perform at the NRL Grand Final this weekend? Tones & I cancelled because she oddly didn’t want to play her major hit so the NRL are keeping it a secret until the big day. Personally I think Cold Chisel should play at every NRL Grand Final but it remains to be seen who will be entertaining the crowd before the big game.
