If you ask Pauline Hanson why the federal government has cut migration numbers it’s because they forced Labor into it. Funnily enough the Libs haven’t claimed anything of the sort but what we do know is that immigration is going to be a key election issue in 2028. So did Tony Burka go far enough with his cuts to immigration numbers? Yes and no, but he’s not done anything about refugee numbers and he’s basically made it harder for industries like hospitality and retail to find staff, but numbers are definitely going to come down.

While Burke was talking about how he didn’t think the housing crisis was caused by immigration but that Australians didn’t want to live together as much as they used to the IMF (not the Tom Cruise one) has said Australia needs to cut government spending. The IMF also said that Australia was looking at higher interest rates as well as low growth and that it was verging on a recession. Chalmers will of course blame the war in the Middle East but surely Big Jim calls time on all government spending for a year or so? Wouldn’t people ultimately have more respect for him if he averted a recession rather than saying it was a recession we had to have? Again!

As the IMF suggests Australia needs to cut back on spending in the US and much to Trumps dismay the Fed has raised US interest rates. This will of course not go unnoticed by the RBA and maybe it is another thing that stops Jim spending money, but we doubt it!

Ed Sheeran, the ginger music genius has found himself in the midsts of controversy for the first time. Sheeran who is on a US with a range of support artists has found himself without them and his own band! Why? Macklemore. The pro Palestinian artist has made some fairly big statements about Jews and Palestinians during his performances on the Sheeran tour, statements that have upset a few people, least of all New England patriots owner Robert Kraft. Kraft gave Sheeran an ultimatum, ditch Macklemore or you don’t get the stadiums. Sheeran ditched Macklemore and as he did the bands and support acts quit in support. Now look believe what you want, say what you want but isn’t it time we said play the dam song without the bullshit political commentary?

Two things that have popped up this morning. The first is that while Karl Stefanovic has dropped a podcast interview with Lambo guy he’s also done a podcast interview with former rivals, Mark Buretta and David Koch. It’s an interesting insight into Karl but mate it’s time to get yourself a decent podcast producer and get back to work. The other thing briefly is Mike ‘Smiley’ Burgess has been out again saying he’s warned the federal government of possible threats to Australian society more specifically Jews. Is Smiley saying Labor aren’t listening? Or is it a coordinated warning? Either way I’d be listening to the boss of ASIO!

And finally betting companies have shown themselves to be on a par with lawyers and TV producers, why? Because one company has taken photos of Sydney Sweeney dressed (sort of) as a female sports star to encourage sports betting. Now we’re all for sports advertising but this is just trying to get blokes to bet, plain and simple. Has it worked? Yeah probably but has it shown that men don’t think women’s sport is as valid and men’s? Yes it has, which is a shame given that it’s now under attack from men who think it’s ok to play!
