Inflation hits 3 year high
ABS data has revealed that the Australian inflation rate is now at 4.6% rising more than a full percentage point since the last release of data. The rise in inflation is mostly down to the 34% increase in petrol prices but with the RBA meeting next week a rate hike seems likely. Not only is a rate hike on the cards the RBA meeting will be another opportunity for Bullock to remind governments that their spending needs to be brought down. This is the same suggesting the IMF had for governments across the world off the back of the war in Iran.
Ben Roberts Smith granted Bail.
Former SASR soldier and accused war criminal Ben Roberts Smith has been granted Bail and will have to follow strict conditions. The Father of the former SASR soldier has put up substantial sureties against his son’s bail and it is now likely to take years for the case to get to court. The question will be though can such a high profile case ever be given an unbiased trial…
BRS wasn’t in court but rather appeared via video link dressed in prison greens but will now return to the community to no doubt plan his lengthy defence case.
Gout Gout runs 19.67!
Teenage sprinting sensation Gout Gout had already arrived but is now a serious world leader in the 200m having just run a 19.67 at the Australian National Championships! Not since Peter Norman have we had such a great 200m runner and at 17 Gout is now unquestionably a future Olympic and World Champion! What a bloody legend this boy is! Warp him up in cotton wool and let’s keep this boy safely away from the chaos that’s about to descend upon him! What a performance!
Ben Roberts Smith arrested
US Special Forces rescue second pilot
US special forces operating in Iran with the cover of heavy airborne artillery have reduced the second and last remaining pilot from the downed F-15 Fighter jet. In what can only be described as a scene out of a spy novel the injured pilot was rescued after detailed planning and execution from the US Military. We may not agree with Trumps war in Iran but that US forces have again carried out a highly sophisticated and effective operation within hostile shows just how advanced the US is when it comes to modern warfare.
Albo to address the nation!
At 7pm Eastern Prime Minister of Australia, Anthony Albanese will address the nation.
The broadcast will be seen across all mainstream media TV networks and radio stations…and will also become a seven part documentary series on Netflix…ok that last bit isn’t true, but Albo wants to talk to the minions about the ongoing Trump fuelled war in Iran.
In the US Trump himself is going to address US citizens also via a special broadcast in which he will outline his plans for Iran.
Albo will no doubt choose his words carefully and may not even mention Trump whereas Trump himself will be singing songs from his own hymn book and suggesting the rest of the world can shove it!
I can say one thing about tonight’s special broadcasts from Trump and Albo I’m not going back to the days of Daniel Andrews and watching him ask if we were right to go on a daily basis!
Deeming conquerer pulls out of race?!
Dinesh Gourisetty the man who knocked off Moira Deeming has withdrawn from the race to win Deeming’s seat. If this is about the Indian restaurant that he owned and was the subject of the health department investigation the person in charge of Liberal Party background should be sacked!
I mean seriously, regardless of the actual reason behind Dinesh’s withdrawal that they went through a process and that he’s now quit reeks of a party unable to be taken seriously!
Max and the FIA
I am a big motor sports fan especially F1 but we seem to live in a world where money and corporations want to control what we say and do even more than governments.
The F1’s are in Japan this weekend before a five week break because of Trumps self indulgent war in Iran that has seen the cancellation of two Middle East races. At a press conference held yesterday four time world champion, Max Verstappen asked a UK journalist to leave the press conference before he’d answer any questions. This request was as a result of the same journalist poking fun at the world champion in the previous season.
I am all for freedom of the press obviously but there’s give and take and Max had every right to turf the petulant piss taking little wanker out of the press conference BUT! In their infinite wisdom the FIA have decided to investigate comments made by Max not only in regards to the incident with said journalist but also in regards to his comments about how absolutely ridiculous the F1 cars are within the new regulations.
F1 is now owned by Liberty Media whose share holders include the soulless aresholes at Blackrock. Liberty Media loves money as does Blackrock and is now far more concerned about the revenue of F1 and celebrities with absolutely no idea about the sport itself.
So to Liberty Media, Blackrock, F1 and the FIA congratulations on destroying a sport that was once about bravery, skill and pure adrenaline and replacing it with a simulator that has no soul what so ever. To Max Verstappen thank you for being one of the last remaining sportspeople that actually has the courage of your convictions!
RBA LIFTS RATES BY QUARTER POINT TO 4.1%
Well as was expected by some economists the RBA have today lifted interest rates to 4.1% off the back of fuel prices. No word as yet from the government but if Chalmers really wants to do something it’s time to cut the fuel excise, cancel major projects and start actually helping real Australians with cost of living pressures! This government will no doubt refuse to take any of the blame for this interest rate hike, but while it is true that some of the blame has to be put at the feet the Trump administration Chalmers and Albo have a lot to answer for with this latest rate hike!
