Have you ever heard of anything so stupid than a country that is the seventh biggest producer of natural gas in the world telling restaurants, cafes etc that in a year or so they can’t use gas to cook anymore?! Having said that this is a time in modern history where some people identify as cats and don’t know what a woman is so maybe it’s not that the moronic but for gods sake have we completely lost the plot?

There is no doubt that Australia’s gas reserves are running low but here’s a tip go get some more! We live in a country of natural resources and yet not only are we committing ourselves to net zero by 2050 but we are quite literally going to destroy the economy and businesses to do it! We will never get to net zero regardless of which businesses and industries we ruin! It’s not about net zero it’s about bloody votes!

If we put the government dunce cap on for a minute what are the alternatives to gas? Well electric is the most obvious but while some venues can do it how does a wok go on induction cook tops and secondly…WHO THE HELL CAN AFFORD THE TRANSITION TO INDUCTION! Yes ok we are thinking this insane rule will only be for new venues, but when has a government ever told the truth about a new policy?!

So while we are think green electricity is going to save the planet are we going to see solar panels attached to restaurants? Is the kitchen hand going to be peddling a bike attached to the generators to keep the stoves on? Or are we thinking wind farms or solar farms are going to generate enough energy to keep the country moving?! They’re not!

We do not have the infrastructure to support the transition to green energy and hospitality businesses do not have the money to move to it anyway! This is insane!

Here’s the thing…so we produce gas, we are huge natural resource for the planet except we seem hell bent on destroying our own economic prosperity for the sake of a woke ideology that will do nothing for the planet! We are selling our biggest resources to some of the biggest polluters on the planet! So that’s ok? Of course we should be looking for energy alternatives but not at the expense of common sense!

Governments in this country seem hell bent on ruining private business and hey with more than a million bureaucrats working the government they’re doing a great job! But if this gas insanity does become reality they will have succeeded in destroying the already broken hospitality industry!
