Well as much as I have tried to resist the temptation to suggest why Brett Sutton can take his new war of making science trustworthy and shove it I can’t so hang on!
When the Covid 19 pandemic hit Australia in March 2020 many of us said ok, we’ll do what’s needed and tow the line. We started home schooling, stayed home and for many of us got vaccinated. Today we all know what a complete and utter failure the handling of the Covid crisis was. Vaccines that are now not recommended for kids under 18, lives and businesses ruined, state and federal government debt still wildly out of control and a generation of school kids damaged for ever.
So while Brett might now have an OA and that he may feel his purpose in life is to make science great again he can shove all of it right up his arse.
The education of my children is the single most important thing to me in the world. I want my kids to have the opportunities I didn’t and to make the most of every opportunity they have. When the covid pandemic came along I was at the front of the line to help make home learning work, but when COVID stopped being about a virus and became about blind government and bureaucratic incompetence I got angry. So angry I started a magazine that was and still is some kind of attempt at common sense and accountability.
We all know Sutton worked for a demonic psychopath that lied his arse off to save his own skin, but what did Sutton do? Well he went along with the lies that it was about the science and took away the last refuge our kids had during the darkest days of the pandemic by closing playgrounds.
So Brett good luck with making science trustworthy but I will never forgive you and I will never forget that you took away our kids future based on a lie.
Oh and whoever the PR company for Brett Sutton is think about changing careers.
