Woah! What a day we had yesterday!
The new minion of finance in Victoria tried to play the look here not there trick when all of us could pretty easily see how bad the Victorian debt was! The RBA went bang! Have 25 basis points off interest rates! The Libs and the Nats just parted ways and Albo? Well Albo pulled a bottle of top shelf booze off the rack, grabbed himself a cigar and toasted to a third term in the big chair!
Let’s look at the budget first…how much debt by when? And yes we’re giving away free public transport to kids, fixing roads and making sure crooks stay locked up, but more than 1200 public servants are about to get the axe, farmers get no reprieve and apparently we don’t have a small business sector in Victoria, well not anymore! So now that we’ve all been completely shafted by Labor in Victoria it is very much the case that we can use the words of the great Terry Wallace of; “…I’ll spew up!” if I see Jacinta Allan and her minions out in their hard hats and yellow vests again! Victoria, let’s face it the optimism we had hoped for in the budget was nowhere to be seen! And the state Libs? Where were they? Well, same old, same old really and barely anyone was listening.
But while Victorians were drowning their sorrows when it came to budget reprieve the whole country breathe slightly easier when the RBA said, yeah ok we’ve done enough to blow up the economy and cut interest rates by 25 basis points. This lead to Albo’s first daggy dad dance of the day! A moon walk down the aisle of his plane!
Albo’s second dance of the day wasn’t a daggy dad dance, instead it was a cartwheel of joy when he heard that the Libs and the Nats had broken up! The Nats said it’s us not them and the Libs begged them to stay but it all ended in tears as Albo looked towards a third term! So much for effective opposition!
There are those on the right that truly believe that a Trump style Liberal party is what’s needed for the party to succeed, but that’s not going to happen, so it remains to be seen what the stand alone Libs are going to do. If the Libs ever want to be on the other side of the floor they better work it out! Plus they could stop listening to the likes of Kroger, Kennett, Abbott
and absolutely everyone of Sky News! The Nats are the voice or least a voice of country Australia but without the Libs won’t be in government any time soon so it’ll be interesting to see how loud the voices of our farmers are raised.
So who was yesterday’s winner? Well it wasn’t Victorians! Home owners had a small win, but really the big winner of the day was Albo! Yes ladies and gentlemen the bloke many of us thought was a clown 18 months ago now stands to become one of the most successful Labor PM’s in the history of the country…and well now, there’s not much to stop him! Who said socialism doesn’t work?!
